Emerging Lions Leadership Institute (ELLI) 2023 Sibu, 27th -29th May 2023

Dear Lion Leaders

As Lions and Leos continue to seek out opportunities to Learn, Lead and Grow, Lions Clubs International offers resources that support Lions and Leos in achieving their goals throughout their leadership journey.  Whether the journey is to Learn and enhance leadership skills, to Lead and mentor others by becoming a trainer, or to Grow and develop future leaders, there are Leadership Development institutes and programs targeted specially for each purpose. These institutes teach the skills needed to become a great leader and transition those skills to the next generation.

The Emerging Lions Leadership Institute (ELLI) prepares Lions and Leos for leadership positions at the club level. Qualified candidates have successfully served on a club committee and have not yet completed a term as club president. Club first vice presidents are strongly encouraged to attend.

The EELI Institute (ELLI) is meant for Lions Leaders who have successfully served on a club committee, have not yet attained the position of Club President, and have not attended an international or local ELLI within the last five (5) years. Club First Vice Presidents are strongly encouraged to attend.

The EELI Institute (ELLI) 2023 will be held  in King Wood Hotel, Sibu from 27th– 29th May 2023.  District 308-A2 will provide all meals and lodgings on a twin share basis for the duration of the institute. Travel costs and all other personal incidental costs are the responsibility of the participant. Registration fee is RM250 per person.

Nomination listing

Dear Lion dignitaries and fellow Lions

 

We wish to inform you that as at the close of the nomination (on 27 March 2023), the nomination committee had received the nomination documents of the following canditates and found them to be in order:

 

  1. Ronnie Hiew Ah Choi as DG candidate
  2. Alyssa Lim Siew Wei as 2nd VDG candidate
  3. Dato Lee Siew Ping as 2nd VDG candidate

 

The order above is based on the positions and the time of receipt by the nomination committee.

 

The nomination committee however had only received the nomination documents of 1st VDG candidate, Lion Ho Chui Leng on 29 March 2023, two days past the nomination due date.

 

As the submission was late and after the consultation with the LCI Legal team), we decided that the nomination of the 1st VDG candidate (in order to be valid) will have to be nominated from the floor at the upcoming district convention in accordance with the rules set out in Section 3 of Article 10 of the District By-Laws (a copy of which is attached for your reference).

 

Any candidate(s) who met the criteria for Second VDG including Lion Ho Chui Leng can stand for nomination(s) from the floor during the convention. A proposer and second is needed for each candidate. However, we would appreciate for those candidate(s) who wanted to stand as candidate(s) to submit all the requirements as per our CBL to the nomination committee on or before 26/4/2023 to enable the committee to do verification on the details while the nomination needs to be done from the floor.

 

Each candidate can only contest for one position which means of SVDG candidate contest for FVDG, she can’t compete for SVDG again .
