Dear President,
Re: Rural Health Project in Long Sebayang, Ulu Limbang
I am very glad to receive overwhelming response from so many Lions Clubs in this area to support me in the organising of the upcoming rural health project on 7th September 2008 from 8 am to 2pm in Long Sebayang Timbercamp, about 3 hour drive from Limbang. After knowing our District Governor Lion BC Sim will also participate, I am now highly motivated to work hard to make sure this project will be successful.

This area is mainly inhabited by Penans who can be found in the vicinity of scattered villages. The road condition is generally good and safe. As your organising chairman it is my responsibility to inform all of you the various duties we are supposed to carry out while we are there on 6th and 7th of September.
I will also elaborate the objectives, the 2 day program and the estimated project cost incurred.

07.30 pm: Mooncake Festival Fellowship Dinner. Outstation lions are cordially invited to join Limbang lions to celebrate the Mooncake festival. There will be mooncakes to eat and lanterns for kids to play. Each lion will have to pay RM20.00. Outstation lions clubs must give the number of members who are interested to join one week before 7.9.2008.
Estimated Cost:
It all depends upon the number of clubs involved and number of members who will participate. The expenses mainly come from medicines, food & mineral water and donated foodstuffs. I have already asked the advertising company to do a publicity banner which will be sent to the camp early August to inform Penans of this upcoming project.
My rough estimation is RM3000 to RM4000 and if there are 8 clubs to jointly organise this project then each club will contribute RM375 to RM500. Please bear in mind that all meals outside Long Sebayang will not be paid and petrol or diesel consumed by the vehicles in the trip will also not be paid.
Before l stop here, l hope all clubs in Miri including Marudi and Batu Niah will participate in this meaningful project. Let us work together to serve the less fortunate more effectively.
"Service With Humility"
Yours in Lionism
DR MARK TAN
Organising Chairman
